Green Home Festival

(2023-08-15) CHEF was invited by BE-ST and RICS to for a half-day show.

The following questions were driving the event:
– What is a heat network?
– Should we wait for hydrogen in our gas grid? (spoiler alert: No)
– What is the new energy trilemma in the UK?
– What are the benefits of low-temperature heat networks?
– How can you get your home ready? Is it very disruptive to connect?
– What is the track record of heat network development in Edinburgh (and why it stalled)?
– What have we learned in the past 12 months as a community group?
– How community groups can take the lead on the decarbonisation agenda (example of the Edinburgh Solar Coop)?
– Beyond Edinburgh: Setting a vision for “Heat Highways
Expertise was on stage but also in the room with a very interesting Q&A and networking follow-up (thank you Dave Pearson & Martin Hayman).
Another small step and progress: How can we achieve net-zero in Edinburgh (and beyond), making sure we tackle fuel poverty, and build a secure and resilient energy system?
Thanks again to all onstage and backstage (Johanna Carrie, Ben Carter, Mike Glass, Jim Lee, Bill Rodger, Janette Webb, John Maslen, Sara Mehrabi, David Somervell, Simon Kerr, Iain Mason, Robbie Toomey, Antoine Reguis, and SAV Systems for providing a HIU unit)
